Roza Eskenazi sang songs and lived life with passion, fire and love. This is the story of three young musicians from Greece, Turkey and Israel that embark on an exciting musical journey, to reveal for the first time, the story of the first and most famous Greek Rebetiko singer. From Istanbul to Thessaloniki and Athens, through her life and music, we will introduce a world that has once existed and its traces today.

BIOGRAPHY

DIRECTOR - ROY SHER

Roy Sher is a producer and director of fiction and documentaries films. Born in 1977 in the city of Haifa, Israel, Roy studied at the Tel Aviv University film and TV department, where he directed a number of short fiction and documentary films.

Roy is now based in the Mediterranean city of Haifa, where he produced and directed the award wining short fiction film ‘MAZAL’, starring the acclaimed actress (winner of the best actress award at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival), Hana Laszlo. ‘Mazal’ won 5 international awards for best short film and has participated in over 40 international film festivals.

Roy Sher is a member of the Israeli Director’s union and the Israeli Documentary Filmmakers’ Forum. The film ‘My Sweet Canary’ is his debut feature film.
